JEVS Supports for Independence is offering free home assessments and modifications to help low-income seniors with visual impairments remain safe in their own homes. Simple changes such as installing motion-sensor lighting and shower grab bars, and the removal of tripping hazards can help eliminate the risk of injury and provide a more secure environment.

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) has added five dedicated foreign-language telephone lines to enable its call center to better serve the growing population of minority elders in Philadelphia. The new foreign language PCA Helplines are in Cambodian, Chinese, Hindi (Asian Indian), Korean and Vietnamese. PCA's main Helpline no., 215-765-9040, offers callers both Spanish and English alternatives. As the Brotherhood Mission continues to prepare and provide for the homeless of Philadelphia, your help will continue to be appreciated.
Based at 401 East Girard Ave., the organization was started 95 years ago and has provided needed services to thousands of Philadelphia's poor, homeless and needy. They are committed to rescuing men, women and children from the streets and to bring the good news of hope to those they serve. This is done through individual donations, annual fundraising events and very limited government funding.
In addition to the above, Brotherhood Mission supplies three meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Volunteers receive 6 training sessions and then lead a one-hour discussion group for 10 weeks. Group leaders gain new insights, meet new people, strengthen skills, and serve as a community leader. Inspiring Impressionism opened February 23 and continues through May 25, 2008. Organized by the Denver Art Museum (DAM), the exhibition features more than 100 paintings and works on paper drawn from nearly 70 museums and private collections, some of which have never traveled to the United States.
