Pelosi is Running Out the Clock on FISA
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 12:52 PM
Instead of working to reauthorize FISA legislation, the Democratic House of Representatives is using precious floor time to debate charges of contempt against former White House aide Josh Bolton and former White House counsel Harriet Miers.

The FISA bill, which regulates how the government monitors terrorist communications, expires Saturday. Hugh talked about how important this law is here.

Congress usually leaves town on Thursday evenings--just a few hours from now. And, we know Pelosi is eager to get back home this weekend because of her daughter's wedding.

Update 1:51 pm:  Republican members of the House are staging a walkout to protest Democratic leadrship's decision to pursue contempt votes instead of doing any FISA work.
