Michael Gerson's Biography

Michael Gerson writes a twice-weekly column for The Post on issues that include politics, global health, development, religion, and foreign policy.

Gerson is a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations. He served as a policy adviser and chief speechwriter to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2006. Before he joined Bush's presidential campaign in 1999, he was a senior editor covering politics at U.S. News & World Report. He is the author of the forthcoming book "Heroic Conservatism" and a contributor to Newsweek magazine.
