Who won Tuesday's presidential debate?

David Ignatius, the highly esteemed Washington Post journalist, wrote a revealing column last week based on an extensive interview with Democratic Congressional leader Rahm Emanuel. In fairness to both Mr. Emanuel and Mr. Ignatius, I am going to quote the noteworthy last two paragraphs in full and unedited:

"And here's what Emanuel doesn't want to do: fall into the political trap of chasing overambitious or potentially unpopular measures. Ask about universal health care, and he shakes his head. Four smart presidents -- Truman, Johnson, Nixon and Clinton -- tried and failed. That one can wait. Reform of Social Security and other entitlements? Too big, too woolly, too risky. If the president wants to propose big changes to entitlements, he can lead the charge.

"The secret for the Democrats, says Emanuel, is to remain the party of reform and change. The country is angry, and it will only get more so as the problems in Iraq deepen. Don't look to Emanuel's Democrats for solutions on Iraq. It's Bush's war, and as it splinters the structure of GOP power, the Democrats are waiting to pick up the pieces."

Emanuel's thoughts in the first paragraph expressing an intent for the two years of the 110th Congress to avoid dealing with the biggest domestic problems -- health care financing and Social Security -- while far short of heroic leadership, at least falls within the zone of conventional, practical, hack politics. Talk about change and reform, but carefully avoid doing anything about it.

Although, it is quite something to read that Emanuel's Democratic Party plans to let the (first?) two years of their congressional majority pass by without even trying to address the health care financing mess -- about which the Democratic Party has for so long spoken so loudly and so earnestly. Regretfully, too routinely both parties fail even to aspire to genuine leadership. So be it.

But it is that second paragraph that sits up and grabs one's attention. With America at war and our troops dying regularly in battle with greater national danger and death in prospect: "Don't look to Emanuel's Democrats for solutions on Iraq. It's Bush's war, and as it splinters the structure of GOP power, the Democrats are waiting to pick up the pieces." [!]

This is vulture politics. It is so far from respectable that it brings to mind the admired liberal twice Democratic candidate for president against Eisenhower, Governor Adlai Stevenson's, definition of patriotism:

"What do we mean by patriotism in the context of our times? I venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of national responsibility a patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime." Continued...

Subject: The Demon "History".
The "evil two party money cult" in Washington D.C. does not even look up from the counting, they issue statements after the communacations director tells them how to stay in the middle and still get re-election money and thus have a round at "eating taxpayer paid for pork".

They ALL voted to go to Iraq, they ALL know the Marines get into Humvees each morning and leave their compounds and drive at the same speed, up the same road, turn at the same coner where last week the "IED" blew up one of their units other Humvees and one of their buds was killed.

They have acutal knowledge the same "islamic death cult mad mullas enabled" loon is there with another cell phone trigger bought in a Wal-Mart two weeks ago, and the scam guy was released by the loon atty's of the ACLU, they know it all, yet there it is and no one wants the blame.

But there are the "eyes" that do see them, the huge red angry eyes are now just coming out of the tree line some distance away, they see from the back of a huge black horse, this demon called History comes to judge them now, the dust comes up from the hooves of the demon's horse, the demon comes now, he will judge the lies of many, the press who have now lied for 40 years, the ones in Congress and the Senate who have lied for the re-election now and for the last 40 years, the two party cult at the top of it all, all of them will be judged now, and they are now starting to understand the depth of the anger of both "History's" demon and the American People.

clop, clop, clop,
CLOP, CLOP, CLOP,

on the judgement comes,
example:
Tim Russert, were are Lt. John F. Kerrys full Naval Records, and Navy Brass why do you hide the truth, all will be judged and soon.

President Bush, go ye release the Peoples Border Guards, then go and sin no more.

The media????
Give me a break about the media bias. Everyone reading this is reading "the media". Foxnews, townhall.com, CNN, ABC, NBC...it's all media. So quit boring rational people about the bias of "the media". I like the more subjective media. I say it's time to forget about only objective reporting. I like hearing what conservatives really think as well as what liberals really think. And remember no one is forcing anyone to eat the media of choice, we all get to choose our "poison".

Now, as to vulture politics. What a dopey and inaccurate name. Although republicans in this voting cycle are the road kill, the vultures aren't democrats. The vultures are the american voter. Bush and Co. have shot themselves in the foot one to many times to survive. Ergo the election loss and the circling of the vultures.

The democrats are the hyenas awaiting in the background. Hyenas and democrats aren't stupid. They know that you don't interupt a feeding frenzy, there will be enough left once the vultures are done. Why poke your head in the door when everyone in the room is looking for someone to blame. Once republicans and conservatives admit their mistakes, the feeding frenzy will end. But that takes humility and responibility and conseravatives, for the most part, are still repeating the disception "I can not tell a lie, the media and the liberals are to blame".
