Trump Has Zero Shot At Winning The Most Important Election In History

Clarence Thomas is 75 years old. Samuel Alito is 73. The odds that both or even one of them will make it to the end of the next presidential term are exceedingly low. If they retire, or, God forbid, get sick or die in office during that time and a Democrat is in office, the court shifts sharply left in an instant.

The backstop average Americans have long had against the worst leftist tendencies will be irrevocably removed. Given the propensity of leftist jurists to ignore the actual words of the Constitution in favor of whatever pretzel they need to turn those words into to advance leftism, that means the end of every Constitutional right we've held dear for centuries, including and especially free speech and the right to keep and bear arms. Life in America as a free citizen will be over when the last bastion of legal resistance against the left is gone. This is an incontrovertible fact.

And make no mistake, barring a miracle, that last bastion WILL be lost to us if Republicans do not win this election. An argument can and has been made that every election is important, even the most important, but that has never been more true than it is right now. Lose this time, and for the above reason and many others, the America we know and love is finished.

Which, of course, makes the standard bearer we choose to run against the Democrat all the more critical. If Donald Trump is the GOP nominee, he will carry that mantle while fighting at least four sets of felony indictments in four different jurisdictions. At some point, he could very well be running for office from house arrest or even prison, making him unelectable to all but the most die-hard Trump supporters even as he finds it impossible to mount any sort of effective campaign.

Further, he’s running out of money as spending outpaces donations and mounting legal fees drain existing campaign coffers. Where indictments have helped fundraise before, this seems to be a diminishing return that donors quickly tire of. Trump’s favorability ratings are worse than even Joe Biden’s, and, according to a recent ABC poll, 52% of the country literally wants him in prison for the latest bogus J-6 charges (not to mention the documents charges, which are far less bogus). How do you convince more than half the country just not to want the guy to go to PRISON but that he should get another shot as PRESIDENT? The answer is you don't because you can't.

We can choose the near 80-year-old who will be fighting four sets of felony charges in four different jurisdictions and could very well (fair or not) be on house arrest or even, God forbid, in prison this time next year, or we could choose someone who has policies that generally align with Trump's who can actually campaign and have a shot to win a general election.

I understand the desire for political vengeance on Trump's (and our) enemies. But the best way to exact that vengeance is to be logical, not emotional. Trump's enemies KNOW that the more indictments he receives, the more his supporters dig in while the rest of America becomes increasingly turned off. They WANT him to win the primary because they KNOW he will lose the general.

I greatly appreciate everything Donald Trump has done for our cause, but putting this guy out there as our nominee isn’t just insane; it’s political suicide. Too much is at stake. Everything is at stake. To use a sports analogy, if a team's quarterback gets sacked by the opposing team and breaks his leg - even if the sack was against the rules - you don't keep trotting that quarterback onto the field to get punished again and again. You put someone else in there and try to win the game. Because winning is all that matters.

By continuing to support Trump, you're playing right into their hands. If the stakes weren't so high, it wouldn't be a big deal. But they are, and it is, and I promise, if we continue down this path, the hellish train wreck at the end will be something none of us want to experience.
