When in the course of human events it becomes clear that government apparatchiks and Rainbow Jihad trolls (apologies for the redundancy) are colluding to shut down businesses that make cake, it might be time to ask what sort of flowers we should plant on America’s grave.

That would be if that brood of vipers wasn’t also coming after the florists. Sorry, they’re closed, too, due to an overabundance of tolerance and such.

Just remember, kids, destroying marriage wasn’t going to change a thing except to turn up the love a little louder.

Well, Aaron and Melissa Klein have had more than their fill of the new age orgy they’ve been forced to attend. They’re the owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, the Oregon bakery that shut its doors in the wake of their principled, God-fearing decision not to provide services for two gals on the so-called “right side of history.”

Not so sure how right your side is if it comes complete with torches and pitchforks, though (but props for leaving out the guillotine at least for now). Sweet Cakes was harassed out of operation by losers obsessed with bigotry windmills. Then it was issued a recommended $135,000 fine by a judge for the Ministry of Information Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries in April to pay for the boo-boos suffered by these allegedly burdened bridezillas.

Next came the part about how insane a pagan double standard can be. GoFundMe killed the campaign to help raise money for the Kleins because it ran counter to that company’s ethics policy. Yes, you heard that right. A business being penalized for refusing service based on a deeply held belief was itself refused service, yet nobody is asking GoFundMe to cough up a six figure shakedown.

Because, equality.

And now for the latest indignity to decent Christian people who, as I said before, bake cakes for a living. Rather, let’s stop right there for a second and realize we’re talking about cakes. Not cakes filled with bombs or poison, or sharks with lasers on their heads.

Just freaking cakes. Cakes so threatening they apparently required a bureaucratic cloak-and-dagger routine to target for elimination.

The Daily Signal obtained communications between “Basic Rights Oregon” (oxymoron much?), a prominent gay rights group, and the Bureau of Labor and Industries which indicate that the penalty levied against the Kleins was arrived at in a less than objective matter.

Just for the record, that’s probably the most obvious sentence I’ve ever written.

Of course a homo propaganda mill, and a government bureaucracy that may as well have been named by Lenin himself, was working together to stifle any semblance of conscience and backbone in their midst. We are living in times when a 24/7 sports entertainment network is handing out “courage” awards to a transvestite. Everybody is in on this. It’s all hands on deck to make sure the Titanic hits that iceberg head on.

Pontius Pilate Brad Avakian, the commissioner for the Bureau of Labor and Industries, is supposed to make the final judgment this month about whether the recommended fine against Sweet Cakes should be raised, lowered or kept the same. But he’s among those implicated by The Daily Signal’s reporting.

Since he appointed the judge who made the initial Sweet Cakes ruling, I’m sure this is all just simple math to him. Stop with your Jesus nonsense, or you will be made to care.

So many of us are still in deep denial about this, but the culture has been flanked at just about every turn. The Kleins, who have five children to feed, are being martyred because the not-so-secret pass code of the day is ‘pagan as we wanna be.’

Salt-of-the-earth folks like the Kleins are this age’s St. Stephens. Watching them being stoned for their relatively benign testimony is nothing short of preposterous, but God’s Word does not return void. If such redemption is to happen sooner rather than later, though, it’s high time we start testifying like a true body of Christ. By his wounds we are healed. Well then, let us be not afraid of whatever wounds we might endure because we stood up for a righteous cause.

Instead, let us count it all joy to suffer for the Name. Do your worst, devil(s).

There is no real alternative. Listen to what the brother of one of the bridezillas had to say about their cause as he worked to coordinate the assault against Sweet Cakes: “The whole reason of pursuing this case is to change these behaviors.”

Translated: Purge the Christians.

So who exactly are the bigots in this scenario again? The couple who made a faith-based business decision while making no further claim or intrusion upon the life of another, or the walking temper tantrums of the Rainbow Jihad who will stop at nothing short of “changing” those who disagree with them?

Face it, churchy. You aren’t accepted. You aren’t tolerated. And you most certainly aren’t loved. You must be broken. You must cease to be.

And you know what, this is the way this world has always thought of us. But after unprecedented blessing for centuries in this country we haven’t been forced to acknowledge that until now. A large cloud of witnesses, whose testimonies made our own possible, are now watching. Waiting to see if we will shrink or stand in the face of what’s to come—and is already here.

Let us earn our stripes and not let them down.
