Tampa Bay and Boston played 11 innings Saturday night before the Rays escaped with a 9-8 win that evened the series at one game apiece. In the National League, the Dodgers scored early and often to beat Philadelphia 7-2 in game 3 of the National League Championship Series last night. Los Angeles batted around in the first inning and scored five runs, capped off by rookie second baseman Blake DeWitt's bases loaded triple with two outs. Rafael Furcal singled and scored the first run of that frame, and then led off the second with a homer to left. Phillies starter Jamie Moyer was rocked for six runs in just an inning and a-third of work. L.A. starter Hiroki Kuroda breezed through six-plus innings of work, giving up just two runs on five hits to get the win. The Phillies still lead the series 2 games to 1. |
