When the polls closed on February 27 for the 2024 Michigan Democratic primary, more than 100,000 voters cast their ballots as “uncommitted.” Usually, those votes would have gone to President Joe Biden.

“Michigan, a critical state in the general election and a key component of the Democratic coalition, is becoming a battleground where voters are expressing their disappointment and demanding a change in policy,” the uncommitted movement’s website states.

Then a week later on Super Tuesday, thousands of votes in North Carolina, Massachusetts and Minnesota also came in uncommitted on the Democratic side.

Naturally, the question becomes, why are these voters upset with Biden?

They’re upset because Biden, until recently, has been forceful in providing support to a longstanding and important ally — Israel. They’re upset Biden correctly views Iranian-backed Hamas as a terrorist organization that must be eliminated — for the sake of peace on Israel’s border and to avenge the slaughter, rape and torture of thousands, including Americans, on October 7, 2023.

The uncommitted movement is led by Palestinian and Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. In recent months, Tlaib has made her positions clear with her votes on Capitol Hill.

In February, Tlaib was the only present member who failed to vote in favor of a resolution condemning Hamas rape and sexual violence. She also voted against a bill barring the travel of Hamas members to the United States.

Since October 8, when Israeli Defense Forces started their defensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Tlaib has demanded a ceasefire — which means allowing the terrorist organization to win the war it started. She wants Israel wiped off the map and has confirmed this position with repeated chants of “from the river to the sea.”

Biden is appeasing this position. Just this week, in an incredible abuse of power for political reasons, he announced American troops are headed to the Gaza Strip to build a port — which will be used to distribute humanitarian aid. He claims the population is starving, but doesn’t explain why, and ignored Palestinian celebrations of not just the October 7, 2023, massacre, but of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S.

“On hunger in Gaza — it’s not caused by a lack of food, it’s caused by Hamas commandeering the shipments and selling them on the black market at exorbitant prices. Again, it’s Hamas using civilians as pawns to gain international sympathy. And Biden is falling for it,” former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said on X about the move. “You can airlift food into Gaza and you can land ships at a makeshift port. But as long as Hamas blocks the supply chain the people of Gaza will suffer. That’s why the worst outcome for the Palestinians as well as Israel is for Hamas to remain in power.”

During the State of the Union speech, Biden offered to reward Hamas through the two-state solution and falsely claimed it is the only path to peace in the region.

Given his standing in Michigan with Tlaib’s uncommitted movement, the next nine months of Biden’s foreign policy decisions will be heavily influenced by the radical and pro-terrorism congresswoman. If Biden wants four more years in the White House, and he does, he has to win the state. In the long term, it will drag out the war, bolster our enemies, punish our allies, betray western values and make America less safe.
