Last quarter’s economic growth revised up to healthy 3.4% annual rate

VERBATIM: The Commerce Department says the latest figure was an upgrade from its previous estimate of 3.2%. The department’s revised measure of the nation’s gross domestic product confirmed that the economy decelerated from its 4.9% rate of expansion in the July-to-September quarter. But last quarter’s growth came in the face of higher interest rates and was powered by growing consumer spending, exports and business investment in buildings and software.

U.S. dismisses Russia blaming Ukraine for deadly concert attack

The United States is dismissing as “nonsense” Russia’s allegation that Ukraine was involved in last week’s deadly Moscow attack. The White House said “it is abundantly clear” that the Islamic State was “solely responsible” for the concert hall attack that claimed more than 140 lives. National Security spokesman John Kirby said the U-S even tried to help prevent the terrorist attack. He told reporters that the U-S passed to Russian security services a written warning of an extremist attack on large gatherings in Moscow. Kirby said it was one of many such warnings provided in advance.

Trump Media Surges In First Day Of Trading On Wall Street

Shares of Donald Trump’s social media company rose about 16% in the first day of trading. The winning session boosted the value of Donald Trump’s large stake in the company as well as that of smaller investors, many of whom purchased shares as a show of support for the former president. Trump holds a nearly 60% stake in Trump Media & Technology Group. Based on Tuesday’s closing stock price the company –which runs the social media platform Truth Social-is worth about $4.6 Billion.

Evangelicals want action on immigration

VERBATIM: According to a new survey by LifeWay Research, the surge in illegal border crossings during the Biden administration is worrying Evangelical Christians. 80% want Congress to take action to stop the flow. Lifeway spokesman Scott McConnell says “The urgency continues to grow for Congress to act this year to improve laws around immigration.” The poll also finds that Evangelicals are concerned for the welfare of illegal aliens and want to share the gospel with them.
