Why Biden’s Latest Move at the State Department Is Infuriating

For years, the Biden administration has advocated for the censorship of online political speech it simply doesn’t like and partnered with Big Tech to get the job done. They got away with it, swiping factual stories about COVID-19, election integrity, Hunter Biden, and much more out of view on the internet while punishing outlets who published the information with “fact-checks” and financially devastating demonetization. In fact, U.S. District Court Judge Terry A. Doughty said this collusion was, “the most massive attack against free speech in United States’ history.”

Townhall was, and still is, endlessly targeted as “dangerous and derogatory” for telling the truth, reporting the facts, and busting the left’s narratives. This is why President Biden’s latest move at the State Department is so infuriating.

“I welcome the appointment of Dr. Eileen C. Donahoe as the State Department’s Special Envoy and Coordinator for Digital Freedom in the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken released in a statement this week. “The President’s appointment of Dr. Donahoe reinforces the importance of digital freedom and values-based technology governance work as Administration and Department priorities. As Special Envoy and Coordinator, Dr. Donahoe will leverage her deep technical knowledge and foreign policy experience to advance U.S. priorities around online freedoms, digital inclusion, and information integrity.”

The Biden Administration is advocating for freedom online abroad in other countries, but is still working overtime on censorship here at home.
