Why did Republicans lose in the 2008 elections?



Jacob Stein kicked a 33-yard field goal with two second left to play, and Colgate beat Princeton 27-24 Saturday.

Jordan Scott had 27 carries for 116 yards and scored two touchdowns for Colgate (4-2, 1-0). Greg Sullivan completed 17 of 20 passes for 206 yards and one touchdown. Pat Simonds made 11 catches for 152 yards.

After Connor Louden kicked a 40-yard field goal on Princeton's (2-2, 0-0) opening drive, Sullivan threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Adrien Schriefer on fourth-and-goal. Jordan Culbreath answered with a 15-yard touchdown run, but after a failed extra point attempt Princeton took a 9-7 lead into the first-quarter intermission.

Scott scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 2-yard run in the second quarter, and Brian Anderson countered with a 24-yard touchdown run, giving Princeton a 16-14 halftime advantage.

Colgate gained the advantage, making it a 21-16 game with a 1-yard run by Scott and a field goal by Stein at 7:31 in the third. Stein extended the lead to 24-16 with a 24-yard field goal at 12:04 in the fourth.

Brian Anderson threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Bill Mitchell, and Princeton made a 2-point conversion to tie it with 9:23 left to play.

Culbreath and Anderson combined for 253 rushing yards on 33 carries. Princeton's Steven Cody made 10 tackles, including one sack.
