Why did Republicans lose in the 2008 elections?



High pressure built on either coats early Monday, while a strong storm system moved from the Rockies into the Plains.

Snow was to linger across the Great Basin and northern Rockies through the morning hours, but taper off in the afternoon.

To the east, a cold front associated with the storm will trigger heavy rain and strong thunderstorms throughout the Plains. Precipitation along the length of the front will be bolstered by the remains of Hurricane Norbert which crossed Mexico and pushed into the Southwest on Sunday. The storm lost all of its strength, but will continue to carry additional moisture into the region.

By evening, the storm was expected to push into the western Great Lakes region where more rain and thunderstorms were anticipated.

In the West, a ridge of high pressure was building and temperatures were expected to warm up a bit, though overnight lows will remain cold.

Combined with gusty offshore winds throughout California, dangerous fire weather conditions were forecast across the state.

High pressure also was forecast to spread across the East, bringing clear skies to the region. Despite the grip of the high, Florida will see wet weather as clockwise winds push moist tropical air ashore and cause thunderstorms.

Temperatures in the Lower 48 states on Sunday ranged from a low of 10 degrees at Bryce Canyon, Utah, to a high of 91 degrees at Tampa Vandenberg, Fla. Continued...
